Ocean Point
If you are fortunate enough to be on vacation you are experiencing the best weather of the summer. There have been many of what my dad would refer to as “a real Ocean Point day.”
Many thanks to Suzie Hamblett and Cookie Dana for a fun-filled porch party last Wednesday evening. There certainly were some wild and crazy outfits adorned by those who participated in the themed party.
Sadly activities are over for the season and ended with our Annual Meeting and the voting of our Board officers and trustees. Kelly Robbins will continue as our president, Ginna Yerrall as vice president and Barb Klein as treasurer. Trustees are Susan Anderson, Alicia Raymond, Dana Demers and Mary Ripley. New members include Cara Pond as secretary and Debbie Marcotte and David Kern as trustees Nominating members are Barb Slayton, Mary Rush and David Houston.
On a personal note, I have made the decision to step down as secretary of the OPCT after many years and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Ocean Point community for their kind words and support throughout my tenure. I have thoroughly enjoyed helping the community. Thank you for the beautiful flowers and gift card as well; I am extremely grateful to all.
The Rev. Dr. Kelly Murphy Mason, Community Minister for Spiritual Dir., Arlington Street Church, Unitarian Univ., Boston, will conduct Sunday Services on Aug. 24 at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend. This will be the last service of the season.
Many families have returned to their winter residences as kids begin another school year, all the best to our young students for a successful academic year.
Although our activity season has ended we still have plenty of the summer weather to enjoy. Have a great week!
