Winter 2014-2015

Winter can be a long season here in Maine. But it’s also a beautiful one. There is ice and snow laden branches, newly fallen snow resting on the rocks along the coastline, blue jays, crows, ravens, gulls, mourning doves, cardinals and chickadees fly above us, squirrels and chipmunks squabble in our backyard trees, skaters take to the ice, skiers and snowshoe trekkers take to the snow.

Children build snowmen and snow angels, build forts and igloos, have snowball fights, and try to catch snowflakes on their tongues.

Dogs run through the snow, grabbing mouthfuls as they go. Cats walk out, shaking paws off as they move slowly through the “white stuff,” occasionally looking back at their owners as if to say, “Can you do something about this?”

We invite you to share your images of winter for this photo album — scenic or poetic, funny or unusual.
