Southport Memorial Library held a Christmas in July Sale on July 11 and 12. There were four rooms of crafts for sale, yummy treats, and books for sale as well. Twenty percent of all craft proceeds went to support the library.

According to librarian Linda Brewer, the sale has been going on for several years and stemmed from the annual Christmas sale, which has been going on for over 10 years. On average, she says the sale raises around $800, but that this year more crafters are selling wares so the number might increase.
