The 2014 Harbor Lights Festival was only slightly dampened by the rain on Saturday. The traditional wagon rides were cancelled as was the lighted boat parade. But Santa and Mrs. Claus, who are no strangers to a little bad weather, arrived at Pier One right on time and were greeted by wet, but happy, children. Then Santa and Mrs. Claus headed to the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, with their entourage of elves and other creatures, for the annual lap time with Santa, Christmas caroling and lighting of the library’s Christmas tree.

All around town there were craft fairs, cookie walks, and other special holiday events. The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor, beautifully decorated for the holiday season by Kevin Kiley, showcased specially-designed and decorated Christmas trees and crafts.

The holiday spirit was alive and well in Boothbay Harbor despite the rain.
