Jeffrey A. Gray, 52, of Bristol died Oct. 7, 2015, at Lincoln County Health Care, surrounded by love.
He was born Aug. 13, 1963, to Donna Mae Emerson Gray and Larry Gray.
Jeffrey was a graduate of Boothbay Region High School, class of 1981.
Jeff worked in many jobs over the years, including masonry with Mark, lobstering with Jody, and was a stern man for many people in the region.

David Earl Grover, 78, of Woolwich died Sept. 26, 2015, at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta.
He was born in Wiscasset on Nov. 2, 1936, to Fred and Louise Grover. He was educated in Wiscasset schools and in 1959 joined the U.S. Army.

Joseph Bruce Merton, 93, East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late Bentley and Margaret (Crowell) Merton, he graduated from Technical High School.

John W. Howard died peacefully in Vero Beach, Florida, on Sept. 17, 2015, from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and heart failure, which he combated with characteristic courage and dignity. He was 90 years old.

Clyde W. Nightingale of Boothbay Harbor died peacefully with family by his side on Sept. 1, 2015.
He was born to Clyde and Beatrice (Gray) Nightingale on Dec. 11, 1934, in Grindstone, Maine.
He joined the Army after high school, serving his country in the aftermath of the Korean Conflict. He went on to a career in quality control for Pratt & Whitney from which he retired in the 1995.

Katherine Jane Harrington, 31, of Boothbay, died unexpectedly at her home on Sept. 24, 2015.
She was born April 14, 1984, to Linda Giles and Donald Harrington. She graduated from Boothbay Region High School in 2002.
Katie worked for the last 10 years taking care of her grandmother and her three children.

Georgia F. Emerson of Boothbay Harbor died Sept. 20, 2015.
She was born April 11, 1932 on Boston Light in Hull, Massachusetts, the first person born on the oldest lighthouse in this country.
Georgia attended schools in Hull, Massachusetts, and South Bristol.
The daughter of Ralph and Josephine Norwood, she had five brothers and three sisters.
She was predeceased by her parents, seven brothers and sisters, and one son, Jimmy.

Kitty (Kalia) Lee Breskin, 66, was an engineer, gifted musician, teacher, mentor, triathlete (avid runner, swimmer, cyclist), sailor, sea kayaker, sail maker, seamstress, gardener, political activist, and restaurant-quality chef. She died Sept. 22, 2015.

Carolyn F. (Rice) Brewer of Freeport died peacefully on Sept. 10, 2015.
She was born on June 29, 1928, in Boothbay Harbor. She was the daughter of Baxter M. Rice and Rheta (Bridges) Rice and graduated from Boothbay schools. She enjoyed ballet dancing, travel, and had a great love and support for animals.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Walter Brewer and son Daniel R. Carter.

James Robert Fisk, 49, of Wiscasset died Sept. 14, 2015, at Mid Coast Hospital, in Brunswick after battling a long illness with cancer.
Born in Springfield, Vermont, on Jan. 14, 1966, Jim was the son of Edwin E. Fisk Sr and Mary Jean Konesko Fisk Gagnon. He grew up in Charlestown, New Hampshire, before moving with his family to Brunswick where he attended Brunswick schools. During high school, he also shared a home with Bob and Pat Johnson and their family.

Born in Bath, June 27, 1928, she was the daughter of William and Helen Erskine Gorham. While growing up in Wiscasset, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Wiscasset High School.

Edythe "Edie" (Ayers) Wilkie, 77, of Boothbay Harbor, formerly of Maynard, Massachusetts, died Sept. 6, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Russell T. Wilkie and life partner of Terry O. Brewer of Boothbay Harbor.
Edie was born in Boston on March 13, 1938, to the late Edith V. Ayers.

Leo W. Barter Sr., 88, died Sept. 12, 2015, at his home in Boothbay.
He was born June 9, 1927, in Boothbay Harbor. Leo grew up in Boothbay and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School. He began working in local shipyards. He ran his own septic business for a while. Leo worked for Bath Iron Works for over 30 years working as a sandblaster, pipe fitter and in the paint department until he retired.

Heather was born in the Tachikawa Air Force Base Hospital, Tachikawa, Japan on Aug. 27, 1966, the first born of Frank and Linda (Brown) Redman.

Born in 1949 in Bronxville, New York, he was the son of the late Mason Smith and Barbara Ballou Smith of Washington, Connecticut. He was raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, and attended Proctor Academy and New Canaan High School, but left school prior to graduation to see the world.

Beth Elaine (Leeman) Harsh, 71, of East Earl, Pennsylvania, died Aug. 27, 2015, surrounded by her family, after a long illness.
She was born in Boothbay Harbor to Barbara Wylie Leeman and Hollis Leeman.
Beth grew up in Boothbay and graduated from Boothbay Region High School. Following graduation, she moved to Pennsylvania. She worked most of her life in clothing factories.
She lived for her children and was a wonderful mother, sister and friend.

Frederick S. “Fred” Orne, 59, of Savannah, Georgia, formerly of Portland and Boothbay Harbor, died suddenly on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015 in Savannah.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. St. Joseph's Church, 673 Stevens Ave., Portland.

Elizabeth Hodgdon McDougall died peacefully at the Gregory Wing on Aug. 31, 2015, with her loving family by her side.
Elizabeth was born at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor on Jan. 29, 1922, to Harrison Hodgdon and May (Pierce) Hodgdon.
Elizabeth graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in 1940. She moved to Pensacola, Florida, after high school to be with the love of her life, Elliot McDougall. They were married on Feb. 14, 1942, in Pensacola.

Gerald Howes “Gerry” Rolfe, 84, died at his home in Pownal on Aug. 24, 2015, after a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was still known as “Daddy” to many in his family.
He was born Nov. 29, 1930, in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of the late Dorothy (FitzGerald) Rolfe and Arthur Willard Rolfe. As a boy and young man, he spent many summers on Capitol and Southport islands.

Florence E. Barter, 92, died Aug. 21, 2015, at Winship Green in Bath.
She was born Aug. 11, 1923, in Boothbay to Willie Emerson and Bessie Campbell Emerson. Florence grew up on Barters Island and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School.
She began working cleaning homes. She worked for Carbone’s for over 20 years. She also worked as a seamstress on the side and later after she retired.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1923, to Mary Ellen (Tynan) Field and Joseph Fredrick Field in New York City.
She grew up in Manhattan, and also lived in San Francisco and Greenwich, Connecticut, before returning to New York.

Born at Knickerbocker Hospital, New York City, on Nov. 22, 1933, Carolyn's birthday was always easy to remember: 11/22/33. Her loving adoptive parents, Ubert Harold Swett and Sadie H. Hyman, spent summers with Carolyn in Bar Mills at the family house before moving to Round Pond in 1940 from Englewood and Maywood, New Jersey.

Fred was a world traveler and met his wife Margaret (Hilda-Meghan) on a ship in Australia. They married and had two children, Donna Hughes and Timothy Hughes.

Laurence P. (Lonny) Sisson, 87, died at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Aug. 7, 2015.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 27, 1928. He was an artist who pursued a professional career spanning 72 years, renowned from Boston to Maine.
His landscapes and seascapes were inspired by the scenic coastline of Boothbay Harbor, where Sisson grew up.

Claire Fuller Morrell, 82, of Wiscasset died July 25, 2015 in Brunswick.
She was born in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire, and raised in Colebrook, New Hampshire. She was the daughter of Maxine Elliott Fuller Otis and Clark Fuller. She graduated from Colebrook Academy and received her RN degree from Simmons College and Children’s Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, Massachusetts.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
