From Academy Award-nominated screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator, Hugo, Skyfall) and acclaimed, Tony Award-winning director Michael Grandage in his feature film debut, comes "Genius", a stirring drama about the complex friendship and transformative professional relationship between the world-renowned book editor Maxwell Perkins (who discovered F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway) and the larger-than-life literary giant Thomas Wolfe. Based on the biography "Max Perkins: Editor of Genius" by A. Scott Berg.

“Genius” stars Colin Firth as Perkins, Jude Law as Wolfe, Nicole Kidman as Aline Bernstein, a costume designer sharing a tumultuous relationship with Wolfe, Laura Liney as Louise Perkins, Max's wife and a talented playwright, Guy Pearce as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Dominic West as Ernest Hemingway. Plays Wednesday, July 6 and Thursday, July 7 at 7 p.m.

“Finding Dory” Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. The one thing she can remember is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a child. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find them.

Her journey brings her to the Marine Life Institute, a conservatory that houses diverse ocean species. Dory now knows that her family reunion will only happen if she can save mom and dad from captivity.

Other stars lending their voices are Ed O'Neill as Hank the octopus, Katilin Olson as a nearsighted shark, and as a pair of Cockney sea lions, Idris Elba and Dominic West.

Writing for The New York Times A.O. Smith wrote, “In a way that is both emphatic and subtle, “Finding Dory” is a celebration of cognitive and physical differences. It argues, with lovely ingenuity and understatement, that what appear to be impairments might better be understood as strengths.”

“Finding Dory” plays Friday, July 8 through Thursday, July 15 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, July 17.

The Harbor Theatre is located at 185 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor. For more information call 207-633-0438 or visit www.harbortheatre.net.

“The Meddler” With a new iPhone, an apartment near the Grove, and a comfortable bank account left to her by her beloved late husband, Marnie Minervini has happily relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles to be near her daughter Lori, a successful (but still single) screenwriter, and smother her with motherly love. But when the dozens of texts, unexpected visits, and conversations dominated by unsolicited advice force Lori to draw strict personal boundaries, Marnie finds ways to channel her eternal optimism and forceful generosity to change the lives of others - as well as her own - and find a new purpose in life.

“The Meddler” transcends its cutesy title and familiar premise with a heartfelt look at family dynamics that's honored by a marvelous performance from Susan Sarandon. Final screenings Thursday, July 7 at 3 and 7 p.m.

“Love & Friendship” A delightful period drama adapted from a novel by Jane Austen. Beautiful young widow Lady Susan Vernon visits to the estate of her in-laws to wait out the colorful rumors about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst ensconced there, she decides to secure a husband for herself and a future for her eligible but reluctant daughter, Frederica. In doing so she attracts the simultaneous attentions of the young, handsome Reginald DeCourcy, the rich and silly Sir James Martin and the divinely handsome, but married, Lord Manwaring, complicating matters severely. Playing Friday, July 8 through Wednesday, July 13 at 3 and 7 p.m.; Thursday, July 14 at 3 p.m.
