If you were anywhere near the Rocktide Inn on Saturday you would have felt the continued economic impact Harbor Fest and the first ever Fishin' for Fashion show has had on our community. Rooms were full, downtown was hopping and tourists were enjoying amazing meals during the festival and restaurant week.

As rain clouds held off and models arrived by boat, close to 150 people attended the fashion show. Eight original designs models showed off amazing creativity — from local designers to designers from New York City! Twenty-two models showcased the merchants of our region, with two 4-legged models from Two Salty Dogs.

This show was the perfect closing event for the 10-day festival continuing the mission of showcasing our town, bringing new people to our region and collaborating as a community.

We are thrilled with the success and know that this is the foundation for a new signature event in our region and continued positive economic impact. And as a bonus for a first time event, media/PR and event costs have been covered and a fund has been started for the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund. We look forward to next year as we have already had inquiries for 2015 to save the date.

This event took over 60 volunteers and we wish to thank all who have made it possible: Food and venue sponsor: Rocktide Inn & Restaruant, Beverage Sponsor: Central Distributors, Prize Package and lodging sponsor: Spruce Point Inn, PR sponsor: Marketing Cents 4u, Design sponsor: Monica Wendel Designs, Radio Sponsor: 92 Moose, Photography sponsor: Robert Mitchell Photography, TV production sponsor BRCTV, Jonne Trees.

Also many thanks to our volunteers, spectacular MC’s  Michael Maxim of Boothbay Provisions & Concierge and Renee Nelson of 92 Moose, our Boat Captains George McEvoy (Nellie G), and Rusty Court (Casey Ann), Sarah Logan (model wrangler!) and of course, our designers, local merchants and models.
