The Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club is pleased to announce start-up plans for the Boothbay Region Sailing Club spring season with sign-ups and preliminary meetings happening in March. This will be the seventh season of this special opportunity for area youth to learn new skills and to engage in competition with other similar clubs from across the state of Maine.

Sailors, regardless of age or gender, gather afternoons after school at the yacht club to skipper and crew the yacht club’s 420 class racing sailboats under the coaching of Charles Barclay, a world recognized coach.

The club meets for spring and fall sessions and despite the cold waters (they wear club supplied dry suits) competition is intense and the prospect for 2018 spring season is for many victories. The program is funded and supported by the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club as a community service project.
