Y Arts performances

Tue, 12/09/2014 - 7:00am

    Dear Editor:

The first ever Y Arts Sing-a-thon was a huge success! After four hours of singing live on BRCTV Channel 7, the evening ended with over 65 songs sponsored! All proceeds from the event go to support the Everybody Sings Free program at the YMCA, a program which gives area youth the opportunity to learn the basics of singing in a fun, supportive environment.

Free to any child who would like to participate, the Y Arts choirs currently have 47 members who come together every Monday to rehearse in the YMCA Annex.

The YMCA would like to extend huge thanks to Jonne Trees from BRCTV Channel 7 for making it possible to broadcast the event LIVE and to Russell Brackett, Tom Dewey and Nick Mirabile of Harbor-Tech Solutions for enabling live sponsor calls via one of their wireless home phone systems. Also special thanks to our MCs Bruce Harris and Roosevelt Bishop, our generous donors, special guest performers, and everyone who came out to cheer on the event or watched it live from home.

Y Arts can't get enough of the holiday season! Join us for our upcoming holiday events:
