Will miss Leslie

    Dear Editor:

We opened our first business here in 1995. Leslie Barter was working at Key Bank in the little building on Townsend Avenue. She helped us set up business accounts, gave us financial advice and, most important, welcomed and encouraged us even though we were flying by the seat of our pants.

Because she was always there for us, we followed her as she moved to other banks. Over the years Leslie and I had lots of conversations. Some about banking, some about daughters and a whole lot when I thought the bank had messed up while she patiently explained that it wasn't really as I thought and maybe she could help me take another look at my accounts.

I'm not sure if the powers that be at Camden National realize what a treasure Leslie was. I hope so. For me it feels like I lost a trusted business partner and friend. Rest easy Leslie, you will always be remembered for your patience and kindness.
