Dear Editor:

In my summer job, I have the opportunity to talk to many visitors to this region. I always trumpet what a great place it is to live in.

During a recent long hospital stay at Maine Medical Center for heart-related issues, I truly realized what a great support this community can be. To all of you who sent cards, flowers, food and came to visit me, I can only say thank you a million times. You will never know how it helped to speed my recovery. Even my dog Riley got the best of care from a good friend.

This is indeed a wonderful community to live in.
