Mark Westrum pleaded not guilty through his attorney to a charge of OUI (alcohol) prior to his scheduled arraignment on Tuesday, Nov. 22. He did not appear in person.

Westrum, who is administrator of Two Bridges Regional Jail, was arrested on the charge on Oct. 7 in Bath. He had been initially stopped on Front Street for failing to have his headlights on after dark. He was released on personal recognizance.

Westrum is on paid administrative leave from his position at the jail. The matter will be reconsidered at the next jail authority meeting on Dec. 14. In his absence, Corrections Captain James Bailey is serving as acting administrator.
