Wendy Wolf for representative

Tue, 10/18/2016 - 10:15am

    Dear Editor:

It takes effort to imagine a more suitably qualified person to serve as representative for House District 89 than Dr. Wendy Wolf. She is a professional with a formidable grasp of information in medicine, public health, economics, and government, and she has the analytic acumen to know what to do with that information in bringing about practical benefits for the people she serves, as demonstrated by her current service as a Boothbay Harbor selectman and as co-chair of the Joint Economic Development Committee of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor.

In 2014 Maine Magazine included her in a list of “50 Mainers Shaping Our State,” primarily but not exclusively for her work as president and CEO of the Maine Health Access Foundation, which has supported more than 300 nonprofits and public organizations for over 15 years.

At the end of this year Dr. Wolf will step down from that position, as she did from her distinguished career as a pediatric cardiologist many years ago, and plans to devote her talents and commitment to the people of Maine through continuing public service as our representative. Let’s help her realize that plan.
