The Harbor Theatre

“Gone Girl,” is based on the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn. On the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Did Nick Dunne kill his wife? “Gone Girl” (rated R) plays Wednesday, Oct. 29 and Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.

Get your zombie on! The horror cult classic “Night of the Living Dead” plays on Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. The event will be hosted by original cast zombie and longtime Boothbay Harbor resident Dominic Garvey. Garvey will talk about how the 1968 film was made by filmmaker George Romano. There will be a Q&A with Garvey after the screening.

Wear a Halloween costume (zombie preferred) or regular attire and get your ghoulish groove on to classic horror movie music beginning at 6:30 p.m.

“St. Vincent,” stars Bill Murray, Naomi Watts and Melissa McCarthy. Maggie (McCarthy) and her adopted 12-year-old son, Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher), move next door to war veteran Vincent (Murray), but when Oliver gets locked out after school one day, Vincent allows him to stay at his house until his mom gets home.

Because he has bills up to the ceiling and is desperate for cash, he tells Maggie he'll babysit Oliver every day after school. Vincent then introduces Oliver to his lifestyle, including gambling, drinking and his relationship with a Russian prostitute (Watts).                    

Rated PG13, the film plays at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, Wednesday, Nov. 4 and Thursday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 2 at 3 and 7 p.m.

“My Old Lady,” starring Maggie Smith and Kevin Kline. An American inherits an apartment in Paris that comes with an unexpected resident. Plays Wednesday, Oct. 29 and Thursday, Oct. 30 at 2 and 7 p.m.

“The Judge” stars Robert Downey Jr. as big city lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town's judge (Robert Duvall), is suspected of murder. While discovering the truth he reconnects with the family he walked away from years before. Plays at 2 and 7 p.m. On Friday, Oct. 31, Sunday, Nov. 2 and Wednesday, Nov. 5; Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.

The Met Live in HD: Bizet's “Carmen” Richard Eyre’s mesmerizing production of Bizet’s steamy melodrama returns with mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili singing her signature role of the ill-fated gypsy temptress. Pablo Heras-Casado conducts the irresistible score, which features one beloved and instantly recognizable melody after another. Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
