Dear Editor:

My wife and I will be voting to reelect Steve Lewis and Dale Harmon as selectmen for the town of Boothbay. Over the years, we’ve witnessed their commitment, dedication and service to our town and its people. As busy as they both are, they always make time to listen to their constituents. Both candidates are lifelong residents that are actively involved in our community. Steve manages the transfer station and has served as a paramedic with the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service for 28 years. Dale is the foreman at the Boothbay Region Water District and serves on the Joint Economic Development Committee.

We believe that a strong school system is a key component of a vibrant, thriving community. It’s concerning to see the continuing trend of the declining population in our schools. We must work together as a community to reverse this downward trend and save this important community asset. Knowing that Dale and Steve both have children currently attending Boothbay Region High School, we know that they are not only fully committed to this cause but they also truly understand the importance of finding a viable solution to this critical issue facing our town.

We will be voting on May 7 to reelect Steve Lewis and Dale Harmon.
