Voting for Lewis and Harmon

Mon, 04/23/2018 - 5:30pm

    Dear Editor:

Steve Lewis and Dale Harmon are my choices on the May 7 ballot for selectmen in the town of Boothbay. Both candidates are supportive of business and economic growth, infrastructure, jobs, opportunities for young people, safety of our seniors, schools and tourism. At the same time are very committed to our environment as they bring professional perspective, Steve with recycling and waste management and Dale with our fresh water.

I see both working hard in our community and are fully engaged and understand the selectmen’s system of our local government. I find them both to be open-minded and knowledgeable. They do their homework and seem to have “open door” policies and will take the time needed to discuss anything with their constituents.

Both are lifelong citizens of the Boothbay region and have freely given their time to help the community do better. These are kind, intelligent, respectful and compassionate gentlemen. I, for one, am pleased that both Steve and Dale are on our select board and hope that along with your support will continue to serve our community.

As voters, I would encourage all of us to be aware of and educate ourselves as to what “bullet-voting” is. We have the right to vote for two candidates. Bullet-voting is a tactic to usurp the will of the people. I will use both of my votes.
