Dear Editor:

I’m writing to support the candidacy of Dr. Wendy Wolf as representative for House District 89, covering Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, South Bristol, Southport, and Westport Island. Wendy is an independent. She wants to focus on solving Maine’s problems, and as an independent she will avoid getting wrapped up in partisan squabbles in the legislature. Wendy is also a hard worker, she’s knocked on nearly every door in the district, trying to meet with as many voters as possible. Like me, those who met her can attest to her warmth, engagement, and strong intelligence.

Wendy Wolf is a physician, and has been serving as the head of a nonpartisan statewide health care organization in Augusta. As such, she will bring a high level of knowledge about our health care policy options, with the objective of ensuring that Maine people have access to the services they and their families need.  

Wendy serves as a selectman for Boothbay Harbor, and is a member of the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Joint Economic Development Committee. As a State Representative she will work for economic development that focuses on future-oriented growth industries, and provide needed infrastructure for individual Mainers and small businesses, such as expanded broadband/internet capacity for rural areas. Wendy believes that state government should honor the obligation voters established to provide 55 percent of public school funding, supporting high quality education without putting a higher burden on local government and property taxes.
