Vote for Trump

Tue, 10/18/2016 - 9:00am

    Dear Editor:

There are people who think that a Trump presidency could be a disaster, but for those people, I offer this simple thought — that Hillary could be worse, much worse. Let us concede, then, that no matter who wins in November, the White House will be occupied by a very loose cannon. Our only hope, then, is a strong leash — a system of constraints that will limit the damage the elected cannoneer can do.

With Trump, the media will oppose him at every turn, as will Democrats everywhere. Even members of his own party are already standing up to him.

But regarding Hillary, the media have not, and will not constrain her, and neither will any members of her own party. She may well have violated many laws, but instead of investigating and prosecuting, those who should indict her are spearheading the cover-up. If Hillary becomes president, she will appoint more radical left justices who could control the next 30 years of Supreme Court decisions, and the forced institution of permanent big government statism will hang in the balance: the Second Amendment will be gone, and with it, any chance to rescue this country.

We have a choice in this election. If you see little difference between these two venomous choices, then vote for the one who will be kept on the leash.

Vote for Trump, as I have decided to do, even though I don’t like him very much, not yet, anyway.
