Vote to reelect Steve Lewis

Mon, 04/23/2018 - 5:45pm

    Dear Editor:

I first met Steve Lewis in the early ’90s when we took our EMT-Basic medical license exam together. For the next 20 plus years we worked together as members of the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service. It is safe to say that we, as part of an ambulance crew, responded together to thousands of emergency medical calls during those 20 years, many of those calls being life or death in nature.

During that same time frame, while working his day job and raising a family, Steve made the effort to upgrade his medical license twice, becoming a licensed Paramedic. Paramedic is the highest level of emergency medical license in the state of Maine.

To earn a paramedic license requires dedication, hard work and intelligence. To become an exceptional paramedic requires empathy, compassion and the ability to provide high quality patient care in the most challenging conditions one can imagine. These are all qualities that I observed while working with Steve. These are qualities that have made a difference in the lives of many Boothbay region residents when they needed help the most. I believe these are the same qualities that Steve brings to his position as a Boothbay Selectman.

I would ask that when the voters of Boothbay vote for a selectman in the upcoming election, they vote for the two best candidates, Steve Lewis being one of the best.
