‘Vittles and Videos’ serves up simple supper and climate change solutions movie

Mon, 01/05/2015 - 10:45am

What better way to start 2015 than by joining others in the Midcoast for an optimistic and entertaining film about climate change that features visionary citizens like “the wind farmer” and “the wild Alaskan” who have put innovative solutions into place in their communities. Served up with a hearty vegetarian soup and homemade bread created from Maine farm ingredients, it’s an evening you can’t miss.

“Vittles and Videos,” a film and speaker series organized by 350 Maine/Lincoln and hosted by the Midcoast Outreach and Peace Center, will take place on Friday, Jan. 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse, 77 Belvedere Road, Damariscotta. The event is free and open to the public.

The evening’s lively and fun film, “Carbon Nation,” will be shown followed by discussion over a simple supper. There will be an opportunity for participants to share their interests and the group will explore how to work together for climate change solutions locally and across Maine.

For more information about the event or to make a reservation for the supper, please contact Andy Burt at 207-380-5387 or annedburt145@gmail.com.

“Vittles and Videos” will continue to be held on the second Friday evening of the month, with the next two programs scheduled for Feb. 13 and March 13.
