Vietnam veteran Bob Emmons will discuss his experiences bringing wreaths from Maine to the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a special Schooner Cove presentation Friday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. in Damariscotta.

A participant in the Wreaths Across America program, Emmons traveled as part of the convoy from Portland, Maine, to Arlington, Virginia. He was one of the more than 44,000 people in December to help place 245,000 wreaths at the Arlington National Cemetery, one for each marker in the cemetery. According to Wreaths Across America, 1.2 million remembrance wreaths were placed at 1,228 locations nationwide.

Emmons was joined by his son Lee and other veterans and their families, including a World War II veteran. According to Emmons, the trek was very emotional—particularly from being with the Gold Star mothers and wives, one of whom was from Lincoln County.
