Ultron, Klimt, Sample and youth revisited

“Avengers: Age of Ultron”: When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's mightiest heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.

The film features an all-star cast including Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Renner. Plays Wednesday, May 13 through Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m.; Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m.

“Woman In Gold” is based on the remarkable true story of the late Maria Altmann, (played by Helen Mirren). The elderly Jewish refugee living in Los Angeles together with her young lawyer, E. Randol Schoenberg, (Ryan Reynolds), fought the government of Austria for almost a decade to reclaim Gustav Klimt's iconic painting of her aunt “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I,” confiscated from her family by the Nazis in Vienna just prior to World War II. 

“Woman In Gold” plays Monday, May 18 through Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m.

“Wild Tales” (Spanish with English subtitles): A comedy-drama-thriller of six short stories involving distressed people. Plays Wednesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 14 at 2 and 7 p.m.

“Consider the Conversation”: with Stephen Kiernan Kiernan, featured in the documentary film, “Consider the Conversation,” and author of “Last Rights,” will address the challenges that remain at life's end despite efforts to reform care. His book, a rare mix of stories and research portray where we are as a society and how we can infuse a greater humanity to life's final chapter. A free event hosted by Lincoln County Healthcare. Thursday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m.

Tim Sample presented by Maine Coast Book Store: The Maine humorist will share some of the quirkier aspects of growing up and living in Maine from his newest book, “Answers to Questions Nobody Was Askin',” and behind the scenes glimpses into his long career in the entertainment business. He might even play his guitar. Q&A and book signing to follow the talk, Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. This is a free event.

Skidompha Library Presents Chats with Champions: Meet Jenna Russell and Scott Helman, co-authors of “Long Mile Home,” about the Boston Marathon bombing and the subsequent search for the Tsarnaev brothers. A free event, Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m.

“While We’re Young”: Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts star as a childless New York married couple in their mid-forties. As their other friends all start having children, the couple gravitates toward a young hipster couple. What happens next will overturn the middle-aged couple's career and marriage. Plays at 2 and 7 p.m. on Friday, May 15, Saturday, May 16, Sunday May 17 and Wednesday May 20; at 2 p.m. on Thursday May 21.
