Letter to the Editor

Truly touched

    Dear Editor:

I would like to thank all of the people who attended Neil’s celebration of life held on Oct. 18. I always knew that Neil was a kind and gentle man. But I was overwhelmed by all the people he touched, which was obvious by all the tributes as well as the number of people in attendance, paying their respects.

The songs sung during the service were amazing. Pastor Wally Staples: Thank you very much for your part in making the service special.

A special thank you goes out to Nita Greenleaf, Louise Speece, and Jeanie Garland for accepting and organizing the food and cleaning up after the reception.

In regards to the potluck supper that was held in my honor on Nov. 8, I would like to thank Nita Greenleaf, Louise Speece and Joyce Spicer for organizing the event. I thank all the attendees and was truly touched by all the support.

My only regret is there was not a guest book available at the celebration of Neil’s life.

In my sorrow I was unable to be aware of the number of individuals at the church. After realizing I had no record of Neil’s family and friends in attendance, I purchased a book from the funeral home. I feel very fortunate to have gotten many signatures at the supper.

However, I realize that there were people who couldn’t attend the supper. I would deeply appreciate it if you would contact me by phone (under Neil’s name in the book) or by a note sent to: Mona Greenleaf, 44 Cromwell Road, Westport Island, ME 04578 if you attended the celebration. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Mona Greenleaf
