A truck fire on the Eddy Road in Edgecomb was quickly extinguished by Edgecomb firefighters Friday morning around 8:30 a.m.

According to Edgecomb Fire Chief Roy Potter, no one was in the pickup, a 2007 Chevrolet, at the time of the fire.

“The driver, Phil Main, was driving along the Eddy Road when he notice smoke coming out of the dashboard. When he stopped and opened the door to the truck, the smoke turned into flames. When we arrived, the truck was fully involved. With manpower arriving from the Wiscasset Fire Department, we were able to get the fire extinguished,” said Potter.

The pickup was a total loss.
