A tribute to Mary Jo

    Dear Editor:

With the very sudden loss of a friend and extraordinarily wonderful person, my thoughts found some comfort when I penned this small tribute the day of Reverend Mary Jo Zimmerli's passing — just bit of writing that fell from my heart.

"A special meeting was called this morning for angels near and far — to gather, poise their wings and catch a falling star. Quietly they hovered ... silently they prayed. Overlooked by God and love their wings all full of glow. They waited for their newest star ... the Reverend Mary Jo.

No sound, no murmurs as the sweep of wings caught this blessed soul ... to Cherish, to Love, and to Celebrate as they took her in their hold.

As this special meeting came to end and the angels set forth to depart ... I'm sure a gentle voice called out ... ‘Good-bye and God Bless Dear Hearts.’”

With love, much admiration and great sadness I bid a wonderful woman goodbye today: Reverend Mary Jo Zimmerli. A woman that bestowed more blessings on those around her than anyone I have ever known in my entire life time.

May you rest in the most blessed peace Rev. Mary Jo. You will be sorely missed by so very many.
