Trevett Column: Trying another potluck

Tue, 02/13/2018 - 7:45am

It is now four of our winter potlucks (three last year) that have been cancelled due to snow. But BICAers are not daunted by this statistic and are going to try again on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at Mel and Evelyn’s house. Directions will be provided in Judy’s email reminder so if you aren’t on the email list let Judy know at Judy@winterisland.com. Soup, salad and bread will be provided. Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share and your beverage of choice. It would be great if you would let Evelyn know at 633-6977 if you plan to be there.

Anita Hodgdon was a very courageous lady who always had a smile no matter how ill she may have felt. She, along with her mother, was a big supporter of the Barters Island garage sale. It is always sad when we lose one of our fellow islanders. She will be missed.

A belated thank you to Robert for overseeing an eBay sale. We had a garage sale item that wasn’t really a garage sale item so he put it on eBay and we were able to add to last June’s garage sale proceeds.

And speaking of garage sales. When folks aren’t out shoveling snow or binging on Netflix, they could take a look around the house for those great items that they no longer use or need and put them aside for the June BICA sale. If you can’t hold onto things until them, call Louise at 350-4032 to make other arrangements.

If you know of someone that is not warm and toasty and might need a little help, let one of the BICA board members know.
