Tree elves kudos

Tue, 11/24/2015 - 8:45am

    Dear Editor:

As the early-birders were finishing up their final purchases on Nov. 21, the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library lawn was being invaded by lots of Santa’s little helpers! The lights, reindeer, and other holiday decorations were taking their place to help #lightuptheharbor for the 2015 Harbor Lights Festival!

A huge thank you to the many elves who helped out on Saturday morning!

Dave “Bucket” Thomson was high in the sky (in his usual position), with Albert Greenleaf supervising from ground level; many thanks to Hawke Motors for the use of their lift.

Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Bob Hasch and son Jack were like little elf-monkeys, climbing high up in the trees to string their lights with expert guidance from Mark Conley.

Thank you to Ben Teel; Paul Noah; Jenn, Wyatt and Jack Lorrain; Rob Williams, Tonya, Brady and Violet Baldwin; Kris Ward; and Jessica and Olivia Tindal, for all of their outdoor decorating assistance. And to the wonderful Laura Honey, a huge thank you for putting her expert touches on the inside decorations at the library!

Thanks also to the Red Cup Coffeehouse for providing hot delicious coffee and cocoa to warm our hands and keep us moving and to Pier 1 Pizza for the delicious pizza pies as our just rewards to a decoration well done.

See you all on Dec. 5 for the 30th Annual Harbor Lights Festival!

    Alan Baldwin and Michael Maxim
