Time to get organized

Fri, 03/20/2015 - 3:30pm

Spring and mud season are the perfect time for making room in one's life by adopting good organizational habits. Getting organized is different when you are a senior citizen. It's certainly not about finally achieving perfection. It is about maintaining cognitive functioning as we age. In this March 27 workshop at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center in Damariscotta, Harriet Vaughan from Legacy Years will help you work with three main reasons older people give for wanting to become more organized:

1. I don't want to be a burden on my children.

2. I want to be in control of the decisions made about my stuff.

3. I want my life and my possessions to be a blessing to as many people as possible.

In this 90-minute workshop to be held on beginning at 1 p.m., you will learn many tips and techniques for getting control over your stuff, your paperwork, and your time.

Participation fee $10. Advanced registration required. To register for the March 27 workshop in Damariscotta, call 563-1363.

The founders of Legacy Years, Chuck and Harriet Vaughan, are a husband and wife team. After several experiences helping downsize and close out family households, the Vaughans realized that their education, business background and personalities had equipped them to help others in similar situations.
