Thrilled about Kenniston effort

    Dear Editor:

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am of the possibility of saving Kenniston Hill Inn. It is long overdue that our local historical society start a historical house program, which I suggested about 10 years ago. It is time to give awareness to homes and businesses who maintain their historic buildings, before they are gone forever. We have lost enough!

Kenniston Hill Inn cannot be replaced and deserves recognition locally. It is time to start a program of historical preservation awareness so we can be proud of what others came here for. Instead of “any place,” let’s continue to make it “some place.” I am available to help our Boothbay Region Historical Society and start a program we can all be proud of.

I have experience in showcasing architecture and have given over 400 deserving awards in New Jersey as chairman of historic preservation. it is time we “showcase” our local buildings. Maybe Mr. Coulombe could give a strong contribution, as he could save money by not tearing down this important structure. Yes, preservation is progress!
