    Dear Editor:

The Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club's Hometown Heroes committee would like to thank the following for their most generous donations to the Hometown Heroes fund. In brief, this fund was established in 2002 after the 9/11 tragedy. In the past 10 years, this fund has provided useful equipment to our local police, sheriffs, EMS, fire departments, etc.

Equipment that is not budgeted and needed includes: two automatic defibrillators, two water pumps, donations to the burn training building, $2,000 bulletproof vests for K9s, $1,000 for the purchase of a new K9, the Red E. Fox costume to teach school-aged children the 911 system, and $1,000 to help purchase automated 411 system for pre-K through grade 3.

Please accept our heartfelt thank you for helping keep our community and citizens safe. Our recent fundraiser raised over $5,000.
