    Dear Editor:

The “Friends” of the Opera House wish to thank all those that helped with their fundraising efforts this past weekend at both the Dough Ball and their annual bake sale during the Gingerbread Spectacular.

Many thanks to Carrie Langlois for her organizational skills, creative recipes, patience and general good nature in orchestrating another successful Dough Ball food extravaganza this year!

Thanks to Evelyn Andrews from Hannaford for her continued generosity in providing many needed items on the "Friends" shopping list and to Kim Martin, owner of Eventide, for lending a hand with another generous donation of home baked bread from her shop.

Thanks go out to the volunteers who chopped, cooked, served, ran up and down the stairs, washed dishes, and cleaned up after the Dough Ball on Friday night including Kevin Kiley, Margaret Tew, Pandy Dickinson, Rick Dickinson, Doug Fowle, Irene Fowle, Susan Endicott, Francine Rhodina, Susan Stapleton, Bonnie Ginger and Genie O'Connell.

Thank you to those on the Opera House Board of Directors, along with the community members who contributed monetary support to the “Friends” for supplies and/or baked goods.

We are grateful to all those who baked, wrapped and sold goodies for the “Friends” bake sale over the weekend, but a special thank you to Peggy Stover for continuing to bake her delicious coffee cakes and pies and to Pat Kiley for baking her special gingerbread men, which are always a hit!

The tenth annual Gingerbread Spectacular turned a few cold and stormy winter days into something very warm and delightfully magical for all of us volunteering and in attendance.

    Happiest Holidays!

    Susan Brackett
