Thank you Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) for the last ditch attempt to wring out a gun control compromise.

Senate Republican gun control measures were blocked Monday, June 20, 2016. Senate Republicans pushed for three separate gun control measures. The first two were obstructed by the Democrats and were voted down. Susan Collins of Maine formulated a third as compromise but could not get the self-indulgent Democrats backing to bring it forward.

The Senate Democrats orchestrated game of smoke and mirrors was designed to mask that the Republican Senators had three serious gun control measures. The Democrats sit-in was planned to distract media attention from the Republicans. The Democratic Senators' aim was to fabricate that only they, had gun control options on the table and the other party was the obstructionist. However it was Democratic Senators who were the obstructionist. Their theatrics for the media spotlight was more important to attract attention for fund raising rather than the Senate passing a gun control policy for their constituents. 

Meanwhile, Senator Susan Collins struggled quietly in the background to get the Senate’s work done.
