Letter to the Editor

Thank you, Mr. Coulombe

    Dear Editor:

I got a chuckle out of lumping the roundabout discussion with the safety of our citizens. Putting the roundabout discussion aside, we all cringed when LincolnHealth came to the conclusion that St. Andrews had to close. Close it they did and many of us talked about how we were going to get to the nearest hospital within the 20-25 minute target time frame in a life threatening emergency.

Mr. Coulombe personally stepped up to fund our Urgent Care Center. At the same time he established a Lifeflight landing zone on the golf course and held two fundraisers for the organization to maintain this critical service.

If you are a paramedic on duty during this time you really hope to have the best facility and equipment to save the lives of our residents. A new ambulance station was needed and just like that, voila, it is 100 percent funded by Mr. Coulombe.

I don't know how old you may be but as someone that hit 50, I am feeling much more secure knowing my chances of survival have been greatly improved!

Thank you Mr. Coulombe for choosing to live here and support our community, instead of some northern kingdom.
