    Dear Editor:

The board and staff of Boothbay Region Community Resources Council are beyond grateful to the members and friends of our Community of Churches on the Boothbay peninsula. Your extremely generous donations of school supplies and money gifts on Sunday, July 17th, have given our big back to school program SET FOR SUCCESS a giant leap forward.

On Sunday, August 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Y Field House in Boothbay Harbor, we will be welcoming over 400 elementary students with their families to an outreach event that supports education. Every student in grades Pre K through 8th grade will be shopping free for a new backpack and every teacher required school supply and a whole lot more.

Now in its fifth year, Set For Success not only welcomes all elementary students from Southport, Edgecomb, Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor we also welcome upwards of 35 event booth folks representing non profits and the business community throughout the peninsula. There are gifts and supporting information galore for our young students and their families while not to forget the amazing Hair Salon offering free back to school haircuts ... Hannaford’s healthy food court, and so much more.

Thank you churches. You have consistently been with us each year gifting us the first fill to rev up our engines as we keep moving ahead all in the name of supporting education and equipping every elementary student to be Set For Success when they return to school in September.

If anyone missed the Set For Success Mission Outreach Sunday and would like to donate, we have donation sites with Wish Lists for needed school supplies set up at The First National Bank on Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor, Camden National Bank, Meadow Mall, Boothbay Harbor and Shear Artistry Family Hair Salon in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. Money gifts may be sent to BRCRC, P.O. Box 43, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04537. Checks made payable to: BRCRC
