‘Talking Art in Maine’ returns to Lincoln Theater

Artist Jane Dahmen returns once again to Lincoln Theater in downtown Damariscotta to host a new season of “Talking Art in Maine: Intimate Conversations” beginning Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.with special guest, Mark Bessire, the Judy and Leonard Lauder Director of the Portland Museum of Art (PMA). 

The PMA is Maine’s oldest public art institution serving more than 140,000 visitors annually, including more than 8,000 schoolchildren.  Mr. Bessire directs the PMA’s entire operation with an annual budget of $5.5 million and a staff of approximately 80 professionals, interns, and volunteers. Bessire also oversees the PMA’s curatorial and educational programming; the preservation and interpretation of the museum’s architecturally significant buildings, the collection of more than 18,000 objects; and the acquisition of important new works of art.
