Super supper

Tue, 04/08/2014 - 1:30pm

    Dear Editor:

Rotarians ventured up Route 27 to the American Legion for the 18th annual Soup Bowl Supper. They were joined by about 180 friends, relatives and neighbors. Daren Graves, our MC, got festivities rolling at 6 p.m. sharp, raffling off the opportunity to eat first.

On behalf of the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club and The Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, I would like to thank the community and local businesses for all their generous support of the supper. A special thank you to all of the wives, spouses and friends of the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club.

The following are the restaurants and local businesses that supported the Rotary bowl supper:

Sarah’s Cafe, The Thistle Inn, Andrews' Harborside Restaurant, Boothbay Harbor House of Pizza, Mama D’s, St. Andrews Village, McSeagull’s, Sara Fahnley And Candy Too!, China By The Sea, MacNab's Tea Room, Damariscotta River Grill, Robinson’s Wharf, Grover’s Hardware, Hannaford, Hammond Lumber, G & G Quick Service & Towing, Advance Auto Brunswick, Boothbay Region Greenhouses, Conley’s Garden Center, NAPA of Wiscasset, Oak Street Provisions, Car Quest Boothbay Harbor, O'Reilly Auto, Good 'N You, Lisa's Lunch Box, T & D Variety, Cooks Landing, and other friends of Rotary, James Brown, Rick and Peggy Powis, Rene Evans and Ann Hedgcock.

We would also like to thank Boothbay Railway Village and Knights Pythias for the loan of tables and chairs, as well as the Boothbay Legion for the use of the hall. Last, but never least, Fran Rudoff and over 15 potters from the Watershed for the ceramic arts who make the beautiful bowls, and of course Kim Mills our Rotary Chef who manages our kitchen.
