Dear Editor:

Thank you to all who shared the evening of Dec. 3 with us at the Southport United Methodist Church as we celebrated Advent with a Lessons and Carols service and a soup supper. Our choir, along with some guest singers each year, has enjoyed sharing this annual tradition with you. We give very special thanks to our talented and dedicated director, Mary Miller, who brings it together each year.

We thank all our readers and the wonderful cooks who prepared the meal and special thanks to Betty and Tina for your help in the kitchen and to Peg for helping with the desserts.

We especially wish to thank each and every one of you who took a little time out of a very busy weekend to attend - your donations will be used to support our church outreach. How truly blessed we are to live in such a supportive and caring community. May you all enjoy this beautiful season of Advent as we await the arrival of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
