Dear Editor:

Thank you to our dear friends who shared the evening of Dec. 4 at the Southport United Methodist Church as we celebrated Advent with a Lessons and Carols service and a soup supper. Our choir, along with some guest singers each year, has enjoyed sharing this annual tradition with you. This year we also enjoyed the talents of Sue Hope and Donna Climo who offered special music on the violin and piano. As always we give very special thanks to our talented and dedicated director, Mary Miller, who brings it together each year.

We thank all our readers and the wonderful cooks who prepared the meal and special thanks to Betty Goulette and Tina Giles for all your help in the kitchen.

We especially wish to thank each and every one who attended - your donations will be used to support our church outreach. How truly blessed we are to live in such a supportive and caring community. May you all enjoy this beautiful season of Advent as we await the arrival of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
