Successful Lobster Roll 5K

    Dear Editor: 

    Saturday, July 29 was a great day for a road race! Over 200 people laced up their sneakers and participated in the 8th annual Lobster Roll 5K. All proceeds will be going toward the construction of a community track and athletic field. Many thanks to all the participants who came out to get some exercise and support this effort.

    Thank you to Boothbay Harbor Public Works crew who put out traffic cones that also helps with safety. Thank you to talented artist Kate Salenen for creating our always popular buoy trophies for the overall first and second place finishers. Thank you to all of the adult and youth volunteers who worked registration, course set-up, clean-up and sold tee shirts. Thank you to David Benner and crew for helping get tables, chairs, and cones for registration.
