Wed, 06/15/2016 - 4:00pm

The public is invited to The Lincoln Home as Dick Chase shares the history of the area known as Damariscotta Mills on Monday, June 20, from 3 to 4 p.m. Known by many as the home of the alewives, Damariscotta Mills was settled in 1729. It soon became a bustling village with two sawmills, a match factory and a tannery.

The Lincoln Home is located at 22 River Road, overlooking the Damariscotta River, in Newcastle. For more information, call Rhonda Hanna at 563-3350.
