Special Olympics fundraiser July 26

Special Olympic Maine athletes and law enforcement to work for tips at Circle K and Irving locations
Fri, 07/25/2014 - 11:15am

On Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., approximately 50 Maine Circle K stores and Irving Oil Dealer locations will be teaming up with members of Maine Law Enforcement and Special Olympics Maine athletes to raise money for and an awareness of Special Olympics Maine. They will be doing this by pumping gas, washing windshields, and greeting customers in hopes of getting “tips” for Special Olympics. Athletes will be on hand wearing their medals and ribbons and are anxious to show them off.

In addition to the event on the 26th, 100+ Circle K stores and several Irving Oil Dealerships are currently selling 15th anniversary static clings for $1 each through August 3 (Irving Oil Dealers will sell through August 5) and all proceeds are going to Special Olympics. Anyone who has already purchased a cling is encouraged to donate their change to the program.

Irving Oil will be giving a donation to Special Olympics based on gas sales Saturday so please make sure to fill up at one of their locations as you head out to the beach or barbecue.

The To Serve and Protect campaign with Irving Oil and Circle K has been taking place for fifteen years now and has become one of the largest fundraising events for Special Olympics Maine.

If you need gas or snacks or just want to say hi on Saturday, please stop by to purchase a cling and if you have a To Serve and Protect event taking place in your town please stop by and allow Maine Law Enforcement members to serve you.
