Two people were arrested on Thursday, Dec. 4 for alleged bail violations involving drugs charges.

Tara Curtis, 23, of Southport, and Eric Matchett, 22, Boothbay Harbor were both arrested in Boothbay Harbor for charges alleging the pair broke bail conditions.

Boothbay Harbor Police Officer Nick Upham wrote in the arrest report that he was asked by Parole Officer Kevin Buckmore to do a probation check-in with Matchett at his house in Boothbay Harbor.

Upon arriving at the house, Upham spoke with a family member who allegedly said that Matchett had been upstairs with a woman for four days.

When Upham walked up the stairs, he reportedly spoke with Matchett and asked him where the woman was.

Matchett allegedly said she wasn't there; Upham wrote that he searched the house and allegedly found Curtis hiding in the closet in the master bedroom.

Curtis was also on probation for a February 2014 theft conviction.

Both Curtis and Matchett were brought back to the police station for drug tests, where both reportedly tested positive for different substances.

Curtis was originally charged with refusal to submit, but that charge was dropped and instead she was charged (as of Thursday, Dec. 11) with violating the conditions of her release, which is a Class E misdemeanor. Matchett was also charged with Class E violating the conditions of his release, as well as Class E hindering apprehension.

Both will have court dates on Jan. 8, 2015.
