‘Sisters in Crime’ at Wiscasset Public Library

The Wiscasset Public Library fall series will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. with Sisters in Crime Vicki Doudera, J.E. Seymour and Janet Morgan. The three members of Sisters in Crime will talk about “Using What You Know to Write a Mystery.”

Vicki Doudera writes Darby Farr Mysteries, page-turners grounded in a reality she knows all too well: the world of luxury real estate. A top producing broker for a firm on the coast of Maine and former Realtor of the Year, Doudera’s latest novel, “Final Settlement,” was chosen a Top Cozy of 2013 by Suspense Magazine. Doudera lives in coastal Maine.

J.E. Seymour lives and writes in southeast New Hampshire. Barking Rain Press released two of her novels this summer: “Stress Fracture” and a second edition of “Lead Poisoning.” She has short stories published or forthcoming in numerous magazines.

Wiscasset native Janet Morgan has been published a number of times in the Goose River Anthology and the UMA Scholar. Goose River Press published her 3rd Killdeer Farm Mystery, “Katahdin Drowning,” in 2013. Morgan’s future projects include a work of non-fiction about homesteading in central Maine and her 4th Killdeer Farm mystery.

All programs will feature New England authors on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. from Sept. 3 through Oct. 8. The remaining programs include the following:

Sept. 10: Lea Wait, “Shadows on a Maine Christmas”

Sept. 17: Deborah Gould, “Household”

Sept. 24: Van Reid, “Moss Farm”and two short story collections

Oct. 1: Paul Betit, “The Man in the Canal”

Oct. 8: Wendall Kinney, “The Bull and I” (CD)

Each author will discuss and/or read from current works. A book signing will follow each event. Come to the library and meet these talented authors.

All Friends of the library programs are free and open to the public.
