This weekend marks the second annual Vintage Camper event at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in Boothbay. Host Paula Reny-Warford said that after last year’s fun and success, the campground plans on holding the event every year on the weekend after Memorial Day.

“We have karaoke on Friday night, the Murky Waters Band on Saturday night, and crazy hat contests with prizes,” Reny-Warford said. “These people are a fun crowd and really love showing off their campers. They actually have them all staged too --- a lot of them buy vintage items, vintage chairs to put outside. They’re set up completely, not just inside, but outside the camper, too. It’s a fun thing.”

From 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, the public is welcome to take a tour of the campground and view the competing campers. “The weekend is still open for all campers, but just the vintage campers will compete,” said Reny-Warford.

Last year, over 20 campers participated. “This year, we expect upwards of 35 to 40.” As part of the event, the campground has a two-for-one deal with vintage camper owners paying for Friday night and staying Saturday night for free.
