Donation sites for gifts of school supplies have been set in place for the 2016 season. A Wish List is posted at each site that includes many classroom items required by our Boothbay Region public school elementary teachers.

You’ll find donation bins with posters at: The First National Bank, Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor; Camden National Bank, Meadow Mall, Boothbay Harbor; and Shear Artistry Family Hair Salon, in the heart of Boothbay Harbor.

Approximately 401 elementary students from Southport, Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor and Edgecomb are required to return to school with a long list of classroom supplies. Set For Success, one of seven programs of Boothbay Region Community Resources Council, a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization, gifts every elementary student with a new backpack and every teacher-required school supply so that every child returns to school set for success.

Top needs are sturdy backpacks, 17-inch minimum size, dark colors. Monetary donations may be mailed to BRCRC, c/o Osman Page, 185 Townsend Ave, Suite Q, Boothbay Harbor, Maine. 04538.

Now in its fifth year, the Set For Success back to school event will take place on Sunday, August 21, 1-3 p.m. at the YMCA Field House. We expect another tremendous event with thousands of free school supplies, free back to school haircuts, Hannaford Food Court, and 35 event booths with folks from all across the region offering handouts, and so much more.
