Seed starting workshop and farm visit
Are you interested in learning about starting seeds indoors? Growing some of your own food? Would you like to help care for farm animals during afternoon farm chores?
The Sagadahoc Chapter of MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) is co-sponsoring an afternoon event at Chewonki in Wiscasset on April 22 from 3:30-5 p.m. For those who would like to learn about starting seeds indoors, Chewonki's Assistant Farm Manager Hilary Crowell will be giving guided tours of Chewonki's seeding operations beginning at 3:30 p.m. While participants are learning about planting seeds, there will also be an opportunity for children (and adults) to feed and care for farm animals during afternoon farm chores with Farm Manager Megan Phillips.
Plan to arrive at the Chewonki Center for Environmental Education, at 485 Chewonki Neck Road, promptly at 3:30 p.m. This is a free event, but space is limited, so RSVP via email by April 20 to save a spot. The Sagadahoc MOFGA Chapter email address is email@example.com.
For more information about Chewonki and directions to the campus, visit www.Chewonki.org or ChewonkiMaine on Facebook. If you would like to share a meal with others who like to garden, please join us for a potluck afterward on the premises, hosted by Sagadahoc MOFGA chapter members.
