Timely hitting, aggressive base-running and a home run highlighted a high-energy showdown between Lisbon High School (7-2) and the Boothbay Region High School Seahawks (2-5) on Tuesday, May 16. The Greyhounds won 14-4.

Coming off an 11-2 loss to Monmouth Academy on Friday, May 12 and yet another rain-out of a game that had been scheduled for Monday against Mt. Valley, Seahawk Coach Josh Garneau was again trying to juggle his pitching staff with a back-to-back game away at Oak Hill on Wednesday, May 17.

Garneau said he had decided to start Grant Giles and hold ace Cameron Crocker for Wednesday. “Lisbon is the best team we play,” said Garneau.

Lisbon’s hot bats scored two runs in both the second and fourth innings. Garneau brought Crocker in for a limited number of pitches in the fourth.

The Seahawks staged a rally in the bottom of the fourth with three runs sparked by hits by Carter Babcock and Cameron Crocker.

The Lisbon Greyhounds ran away in the last three innings with a total of 10 runs including a home run to right by Ryley Austin.
