The Garden Therapy team of the Boothbay Region Garden Club took the opportunity to "piggy back" on the upcoming House and Garden Tour theme of The Sea Around Us to bring some deep sea whimsy to the residents of Gregory Wing and Safe Haven at St. Andrews Village.

Thirty craft packets were assembled ahead of time to assist in the creation of the colorful oceanic posters that would later be used to decorate the residents' rooms.

Eight different inhabitants of the sea were made from foam pieces, which were pasted on a blue background. There were four different kinds of fish, two species of octopus, plus seals and sharks. The base for each of these creatures of the deep was a small, solid colored paper plate. Additional embellishments of the sort used in scrap-booking were added in keeping with the nautical theme so that the posters might be finished with coral, waves, shells and bubbles. Some extra posters were completed and distributed among those who were unable to take part in the project.
