Sad to see column’s end

Mon, 06/15/2015 - 10:30am

    Dear Editor:

I was sorry to read Tim Sample's column the other day and to understand that he will no longer be writing it. I am sure that I am one of many who look forward to and will miss the second section of the paper to chill out, reading his commentary that in no way would affect my life for better or worse ... which is why I looked forward to those few minutes. In a time where everything we read, watch or hear has some bearing on how we are living — well, it's nice to just sit and read a story, reflection or relish in a bit of humor.

It's one of my rituals. I love to get the Register, sit down with my cup of coffee and read the paper. Tim's column is definitely one of the highlights. Based on what he has written, we are probably about the same age, so I can appreciate so well when he looks back at past events.

At this point I wish him well. I will catch his act when I'm in town but I will miss the column. Columns like this are rare and it's sad to see it go.
