Dear Editor:

When the roundabout was first proposed, I thought that there were likely cheaper alternatives to correcting any traffic problems rather than the $3 million project. Not having experienced any major traffic jams myself, I was not convinced that there was a significant traffic problem that needed to be fixed.

That being said, now that the paving has been completed, it looks like the final completed project will be an attractive addition to the Boothbay region. I'm looking forward to coming back in December to see the CMBG “Gardens Aglow” and the hopefully completed roundabout with lights and landscaping (at least what can be accomplished this time of year). Any plans for a Bavarian style Christmas Village on the Common? Would love to see a large Christmas tree on the Common on the way into town.
